Cash App, Chewy, Boll & Branch and Lola Blankets have all confirmed they are ending their sponsorships of Jennifer Welch’s “I’ve Had It” podcast after backlash over a segment in which the hosts laughed about desecrating the body of Charlie Kirk.
The companies’ statements, shared in company responses and social media posts, did not all specify exactly when the sponsorships ended, but each confirmed it no longer has ties to the show.
Cash App addressed the matter directly on X after a user tagged the company and asked, “Does Cashapp support the mocking of a murder victim?” while calling for a boycott over its sponsorship of the episode.
“We do not condone violence of any kind, and we are no longer sponsors of this podcast,” Cash App wrote.
Chewy confirmed the same in a customer service response shared by X user Val Candee.
“I do want to clarify that Chewy is no longer affiliated with or sponsoring the ‘I’ve Had It’ podcast,” a Chewy representative wrote. “We value your trust and appreciate the opportunity to address this concern. Our focus remains on the health and happiness of pets and the people who love them.”
Boll & Branch also addressed the issue publicly on X, ruling out future advertising with the podcast. Lola Blankets confirmed it had cut ties in a response shared by X user CaraGrace23, who said a friend had reached out to the company directly.
“Thank you for your comment. We no longer work with that podcast,” Lola Blankets wrote.
Both Boll & Branch and Lola Blankets had been listed as sponsors in the description of the podcast’s October 27 episode, titled “Everybody’s a F**king Expert,” which included discount codes for their products. Cash App’s sponsorship was documented in an earlier episode, “Who Gives a Zuck?,” during which Welch promoted the app, thanked the company and included a download link along with advertising disclosures.
The Episode in Question
The advertiser exodus followed a November 5 episode of the podcast titled “Drinking MAGA Tears,” in which Welch and her co-host Sullivan read aloud social media posts celebrating Democratic election victories and mocking conservatives.
The hosts had been reading posts that ridiculed conservative positions on abortion, vaccines and transgender issues when Welch came across a comment referencing Kirk. Before reading it aloud, she praised the authors of the posts and said their jokes made her feel patriotic.
“We’re digging up Charlie Kirk and doing it again,” Welch read.
Both hosts then lowered their heads and laughed for more than 20 seconds, according to footage of the episode that circulated online and prompted the wave of sponsor departures.
