Sean Combs Moved From New Jersey Prison to Pennsylvania Facility With History of Abuse Claims

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, a facility with a history of lawsuits and a criminal case alleging mistreatment of inmates.

Sean “Diddy” Combs has been transferred from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, the Federal Bureau of Prisons confirmed Friday. Combs, 56, had spent roughly the past year at Fort Dix.

The move places the disgraced music mogul inside a facility that has faced its own allegations of mistreating inmates. Allenwood Low has been the subject of a lawsuit alleging cruel and unusual punishment, as well as a federal criminal case involving an alleged coordinated attack by inmates using makeshift weapons.

In a 2017 lawsuit, former inmate Anthony Mammana accused a prison lieutenant of retaliating against him by locking him in a freezing cell known as the “Yellow Room” for four days. Mammana said he was stripped of his regular clothing and given only thin, transparent garments, with no blankets, sheets or pillow. He also alleged that bright lights were left on around the clock to deprive him of sleep, and that he was denied toilet paper, soap and towels while guards mocked him. A court agreed his treatment was inhumane, though a legal technicality prevented him from pursuing damages.

In September 2025, federal prosecutors indicted 17 Allenwood Low inmates on charges tied to an alleged gang-related conspiracy to assault other prisoners in June 2023. Prosecutors said the defendants planned to attack fellow inmates with weapons including locks and other heavy objects tied to strings, belts and socks. Authorities say the planned assault grew out of a dispute over control of the housing unit’s television and telephone areas. Several defendants also face charges of possessing prohibited weapons. The case was brought as part of a Justice Department initiative targeting transnational criminal organizations.

A Bureau of Prisons spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment on the facility’s history.

Transfer follows reported injury at Fort Dix

Combs’ move to Pennsylvania comes days after he suffered a head injury while held at Fort Dix. TMZ had reported that the injury stemmed from a fight with fellow inmate Christopher “Dudus” Coke, a convicted Jamaican drug lord — a claim Combs’ family has denied. The Bureau of Prisons has declined to discuss the circumstances surrounding his transfer.

The transfer also follows reports questioning how Combs had been treated at Fort Dix. Last month, NBC News reported that four inmates alleged Combs had access to massages, premium alcohol and a cellphone, and that other prisoners helped cook for him and clean his living space. A representative for Combs pushed back on those claims, telling reporters that Combs was serving his sentence in accordance with prison rules while his appeal proceeds.

Background on the case

Combs, founder of Bad Boy Records, was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy following his federal trial in New York. He is appealing both his conviction and his sentence. His projected release date is currently March 2, 2028.
