Joy Behar Says She’d Welcome Trump Back on ‘The View’ Despite Health Remarks

Joy Behar said she’d welcome President Trump back on “The View” despite suggesting he is “not long for this world,” prompting a sharp rebuke from the White House.

“The View” co-host Joy Behar said Friday she would like to see President Trump return to the daytime talk show, even after suggesting in the same conversation that he is “not long for this world.”

Behar made the remarks during an interview with New York Magazine, in which she reflected on her long history with Trump, a man she has clashed with publicly for years and has said she hopes to help remove from office.

“I’d love Donald Trump to take the heat,” Behar said.

She then raised questions about his health. “You know Trump is not long for this world. He seems ill. He does not seem like he’s well,” Behar said.

A White House spokesperson responded to the comments in a statement to Fox News Digital, calling Behar an “extremely unlikeable, talentless hack with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffers from a severe and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.” The spokesperson added, “I lose braincells every single time I have the displeasure of hearing her speak.”

This is not the first time Behar has questioned Trump’s health publicly. Last month, she argued that the media scrutinizes Trump’s health less closely than it scrutinized former President Joe Biden’s.

A history that predates politics

Behar and Trump’s relationship stretches back decades, long before he entered politics. Trump appeared on “The View” more than a dozen times before becoming president, and Behar attended his 1993 wedding to Marla Maples at The Plaza Hotel.

Behar said Trump’s sense of humor has shifted considerably since those days. “I knew him when he was just an annoying New York figure,” she said. “Back then, he had a sense of humor that was not as bizarre as it is now. Now his sense of humor is making fun of handicapped people.”

She recalled an earlier exchange in which she compared Trump to Woody Allen after he remarked that he would date his daughter Ivanka if they were not related. “He actually thought that was funny,” Behar said.

Behar has said Trump is “much more dangerous” now than during his first term in office. She has also recently called on Americans to urge their members of Congress to invoke the 25th Amendment against him, saying she believes he is “destroying the United States of America.”
