Joy Behar Says She’d Welcome Trump Back on ‘The View’ After Health Remark Draws White House Rebuke

Joy Behar said she’d welcome Donald Trump back on “The View” even as she suggested he is “not long for this world,” prompting a scathing White House rebuttal.

“The View” co-host Joy Behar said Friday she would welcome President Donald Trump back onto the daytime talk show, even as she suggested in the same breath that he is “not long for this world.”

Behar made the remarks during an interview with New York Magazine, in which she reflected on her long history with Trump, a man she has sparred with publicly for years and whom she has said she hopes to help remove from office.

“I’d love Donald Trump to take the heat,” Behar said.

She went further, questioning the president’s health. “You know Trump is not long for this world. He seems ill. He does not seem like he’s well,” Behar said.

A White House spokesperson fired back in a statement to Fox News Digital, calling Behar an “extremely unlikeable, talentless hack with a poorly rated TV show who clearly suffers from a severe and incurable disease known as Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

“I lose braincells every single time I have the displeasure of hearing her speak,” the spokesperson said.

This is not the first time Behar has raised questions about Trump’s health on air. Last month she argued that the media has not scrutinized Trump’s health as closely as it did former President Joe Biden’s. Trump was declared “fully fit” for his duties after his annual physical showed what the White House described as “excellent health.”

Despite their current political rift, Behar and Trump have a history that predates his time in office. Trump appeared on “The View” more than a dozen times before becoming president, and Behar attended his 1993 wedding to Marla Maples at The Plaza Hotel.

Behar said Trump’s sense of humor has shifted considerably since she first knew him as a New York celebrity. “I knew him when he was just an annoying New York figure,” she said. “Back then, he had a sense of humor that was not as bizarre as it is now. Now his sense of humor is making fun of handicapped people.”

She recalled one exchange in which she compared Trump to Woody Allen after he remarked he would date his daughter Ivanka if they were not related. “He actually thought that was funny,” Behar said.

Behar has said Trump is “much more dangerous” now than during his first term and has urged Americans to pressure Congress to invoke the 25th Amendment against him, saying she believes he is “destroying the United States of America.”
