Retired Philadelphia Phillies great Jimmy Rollins set off a wave of confusion on social media this week after posting content that seemed wildly out of character for his Instagram feed. The posts weren’t the result of a hack — they were part of a business he co-founded.
The 47-year-old former MLB star, 2007 National League MVP and current TNT Sports analyst, is a co-founder of The Pretty Kitty Klub, a women’s underwear brand. One post featured screenshots of text messages praising the product, which Rollins captioned, “Texts like this lets us know that @theprettykittyklub is doing its job and saving sex lives one marriage at a time.”
That message followed an earlier, more typical sports-related post about postseason defense, prompting followers to wonder whether his account had been compromised.
A second post featured models wearing the brand’s products along with a holiday-season pitch. “Okay everyone keeps texting and asking but I can’t name names, what I can do is give a glimpse of @theprettykittyklub,” Rollins wrote. “Fellas remember it’s holiday season, get yourself a gift…for her and to all the Ladies comfy and sexy does exist, treat yourself and you can thank me later. (All the models and scenes are real, AI helped me edit.)”
The posts drew a mix of surprise and support in the comments. “I had a lifesize poster of you on my wall as a kid,” one fan wrote. “I guess this is what I’m getting my girl for xmas now.” Another commenter added, “Is my GOAT ok? I’m a guy but if World Series champion and Phillies legend j-roll says so I’ll buy some.”
The company confirmed Rollins’ involvement in a statement to the New York Post, noting that he has largely stayed behind the scenes. “Mr. Rollins is a co-founder of Pretty Kitty Klub,” the statement read. “Jimmy has taken a more private role, focused on the company’s long-term vision, strategic growth, and business development. That’s why he isn’t currently featured on the website.”
Rollins, a World Series champion with the Phillies, has built a post-playing career that includes broadcasting work alongside his business ventures.
