Jeremy Renner’s ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ Heads to Netflix as Final Season Nears

Multiple seasons of Jeremy Renner’s “Mayor of Kingstown” land on Netflix October 5, while the show’s eighth-and-final eight-episode season, featuring new cast members David Morse and Nestor Carbonell, likely won’t premiere on Paramount+ until late 2026 or early 2027.

Fans of “Mayor of Kingstown” who don’t subscribe to Paramount+ are about to get a way in. Multiple seasons of the Jeremy Renner-led drama arrive on Netflix on Monday, October 5, giving new viewers a chance to catch up before the series wraps with its fifth and final season.

That final season, confirmed earlier this year, will run eight episodes and concluded production in early July. No premiere date has been set, but based on Paramount+’s crowded 2026 release calendar — which includes the returns of “MobLand,” “Tulsa King” and “Dexter: Resurrection” later this month, plus the final season of “Yellowjackets” in November — the show is unlikely to return before December 2026 or early 2027.

For comparison, Season 4 wrapped production in early June 2025 and premiered on October 26, 2025.

What’s coming in the final season

The fifth season picks up around the arrival of FBI agent Russell Hardy, played by David Morse, who comes to Kingstown following the murder of Mike’s (Renner) sister-in-law. According to Paramount, Hardy “threatens to disrupt the tenuous balance of power in Kingstown.”

Nestor Carbonell joins the cast as Enrique Molina, described as a boss who comes to Kingstown to avenge a relative who has gone missing. Returning cast members include Edie Falco, Laura Benanti, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Necar Zadegan, Nichole Galicia and Lennie James, alongside Morse.

Where to watch

The first four seasons of “Mayor of Kingstown” are currently streaming on Paramount+, which offers two subscription tiers: the ad-supported Essential plan at $8.99 a month and the ad-free Premium plan, which includes Showtime titles and live CBS, at $13.99 a month. A seven-day free trial is available on the Premium plan. Paramount+ can also be added through Hulu or Amazon for $13.99 a month, with free trials offered to new subscribers on both platforms.

Starting October 5, viewers will also be able to find multiple existing seasons of the show on Netflix.
