Anson Williams, who played Potsie Weber on “Happy Days,” posted a shirtless mirror selfie to Instagram on Sunday, flexing his biceps alongside a message urging fellow baby boomers not to let age define them.
“My yearly reminder to every Boomer: NEVER let anyone diminish us because of our age,” the 77-year-old actor wrote in the caption. “I’m 77. More creative, healthier, busier, more curious — and more alive than I was at 40.”
Williams said his wife, Sharon MaHarry, who “sees the best in [him],” along with “good lovin,” “kindness” and “adventure,” have helped keep him healthy. He encouraged other boomers to adopt “a little discipline,” adding, “Eat right, move, take care of yourself.”
“Mountains still worth climbing. And the absolute refusal to let anyone else decide my worth. We didn’t come this far to become invisible. We came this far to become unstoppable.”
He closed the post by declaring he was “not winding down” but “still winning,” adding, “And we haven’t even played our best hand yet.”
Fans flooded the comments with praise. “I’m 54, If a time traveler from the future showed up with this photo and told me, ‘This is you at 77,’ I would be stoked!” one wrote. Another added, “Way to go Potsie!!! Couldn’t resist … you’re looking great Anson!” A third commenter said, “Looking good and inspiring people! I am taking your message to heart. I needed a reminder.”
Williams played Potsie Weber for all 11 seasons of “Happy Days,” from 1974 to 1984, starring alongside Ron Howard, Henry Winkler and Marion Ross. He later appeared on shows including “Baywatch” and “Star Trek: Voyager,” and in recent years has worked as a director. He is currently involved with the off-Broadway production “Crazy Mama: A True Story of Love and Madness.”
