After finishing 3-14 in 2025, the Tennessee Titans have overhauled their coaching staff and roster in hopes of becoming competitive in the AFC South, with new head coach Robert Saleh and offensive coordinator Brian Daboll leading quarterback Cam Ward into his second NFL season.
The Titans’ 2025 season was marked by struggles on both sides of the ball, finishing near the bottom of the league in scoring offense and scoring defense. Rookie quarterback Cam Ward showed flashes of promise despite frequent pressure, while running back Tony Pollard rushed for 1,082 yards. The team also faced one of the league’s toughest schedules. Midway through the season, head coach Brian Callahan was fired.
General manager Mike Borgonzi responded with a wide-ranging offseason of changes. The most significant move was hiring Robert Saleh, the former New York Jets head coach, to lead the team, with Brian Daboll brought in to run the offense.
Tennessee also reshaped its roster on both sides of the ball. On offense, the team signed former New York Giants wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson and tight end Daniel Bellinger. On defense, it added edge rusher John Franklin-Myers, defensive tackle Solomon Thomas, cornerbacks Alontae Taylor and Cor’Dale Flott, and safety Tony Adams. The Titans also brought in veteran quarterback Mitchell Trubisky as depth behind Ward.
In the draft, Tennessee selected wide receiver Carnell Tate with the No. 4 overall pick and traded back into the first round to add pass rusher Keldric Faulk. The team also let several free agents depart and restructured its offensive line depth to make room for its rookie class.
Ward now has a deeper group of receiving weapons, with Tate joining Wan’Dale Robinson and Calvin Ridley to give him more options for quick separation than he had as a rookie. The Titans’ offensive line was ranked 29th in the league last season, though there is some belief within the organization that the unit could outperform that ranking. The defensive line was ranked 17th.
The Titans’ win total for the upcoming season has been set at 6.5. Arguments for the over point to Ward’s improved supporting cast, a difficult 2025 schedule that still produced three wins, and the new coaching staff. Arguments for the under cite the questionable offensive line, a defensive line ranked 17th, and division rivals that include a strong Houston Texans defense, an Indianapolis Colts team with a quarterback returning from an Achilles injury, and a Jacksonville Jaguars roster that lost key players. Projections have Tennessee finishing around six wins this season, an improvement over 2025 but not a clear bet in either direction on the win total.
