Real Housewives of Orange County star Jennifer Pedranti says she and fiancé Ryan Boyajian have finally settled on a wedding date, ending years of speculation from her castmates about when the couple would tie the knot. The pair are planning to marry right before spring break next year, though they are keeping the exact date private.
Pedranti said the push to commit to a date didn’t come from her Bravo co-stars but from her own children. “I had to drive Greyson to work the other day, and he’s like, ‘Mom, I’m putting you on the hot seat. When are you marrying Ryan?'” Pedranti recalled. “It’s just been long enough. I am tired of talking about it; Ryan and I need to do it.”
She said she and Boyajian have already told her parents about the plans. “So Ryan and I picked a date. We’ve called my parents. We’re doing it right before spring break next year. We’re just going for it,” she said.
A Season of Family Reflection
Pedranti, a mother of five, also discussed her relationship with her 17-year-old son, Greyson, who opened up earlier this season about unresolved feelings surrounding his parents’ divorce.
“That situation was crazy for me because I pride myself on being very close with my kids,” Pedranti said. “I was a little taken aback because I couldn’t believe I didn’t know how he felt.”
She said their relationship has since strengthened. “He’s pretty darn smart,” she said, adding that Greyson told her, regarding being bullied, “Mom, it’s not about me; it’s about them. They have something they’re going through.”
Tension With Vicki Gunvalson
Pedranti also addressed her dynamic with returning original cast member Vicki Gunvalson, who has drawn attention this season for deflecting questions about her own relationship with boyfriend Mike Smith by focusing on Pedranti’s romance instead.
“I’ve heard Vicki say several times that being on the show has ruined relationships for her in the past,” Pedranti said. “If she can deflect attention onto somebody else’s relationship instead of her own, she’s going to do it. I feel like she thinks it’s protecting her and Michael.”
The two have also clashed over a remark Gunvalson made calling Pedranti “low-hanging fruit” in a recent episode. “She probably sees me as someone a little bit soft and kind,” Pedranti said. “I do think she meant what she said [and] that hurts.” Pedranti said castmates Emily Simpson and Shannon Storms Beador defended her in the moment. “These are my girls. I might have let that comment slide, but they didn’t. I really appreciated that.”
Pedranti said she believes Gunvalson struggles to reciprocate openness within the friend group. “A lot of my interactions with Vicki feel very one-sided,” she said. “I wish Vicki would trust the group enough to open up.”
What’s Ahead
Pedranti teased an upcoming cast trip to Tokyo, calling it emotional and at times uncomfortable, but ultimately a highlight of the season. She also predicted that Gunvalson and Heather Dubrow will face the most scrutiny at the upcoming reunion.
