The Presidents Cup begins Thursday at Medinah Country Club in DuPage County, bringing one of golf’s premier international team competitions to the Chicago suburbs.
The United States enters as a heavy -400 betting favorite over the International team, a gap reflected in the rosters: seven of the world’s top 10 ranked players are American, while the International team’s top-ranked golfer, Si Woo Kim, sits at No. 14.
The Americans have dominated the event’s history, winning 10 consecutive Presidents Cups and losing only once across the first 15 editions. Their most recent triumph came at Royal Montreal in 2024, an 18.5-11.5 victory.
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler headlines the U.S. side, though team competition has been a relative weak spot in his career. Scheffler carries a combined 6-11-4 record across three Ryder Cups and two Presidents Cups.
Fans in the Medinah area may also want to watch 21-year-old Jackson Koivun, the second-youngest American ever to play in the Presidents Cup. Koivun won the 3M Open in just his third professional start and reached the FedEx Cup playoffs after only five starts on tour.
Alongside the tournament, national sports outlets have been promoting sign-up offers tied to the event, including a Fanatics Sportsbook promotion allowing new users in Illinois and more than 20 other states to bet $20 and receive $350 in FanCash, an offer subject to terms and state eligibility rules set by the sportsbook.
