Hunter Biden says he is willing to testify before Congress alongside Donald Trump Jr., responding directly to a request from Sen. John Curtis (R-UT) that both men appear before lawmakers.
“Sen. Curtis of Utah has suggested that Don Jr. and I should testify before Congress. I say bring it on,” Hunter Biden wrote in a post on X on Tuesday. “I’ve already given more than seven hours of sworn testimony. More than three dozen witnesses testified across two chambers.”
He went on to address the underlying question of whether he profited from foreign business while his father was in office. “I had no foreign business dealings while my father was president. None. I painted paintings, and I still do,” he wrote, adding, “I’ll sit next to Don Jr. and testify any time, any place.”
He extended the offer further, writing, “Eric and Jared can join us too. No need for a subpoena. Let’s all do it tomorrow.”
The exchange followed a letter Curtis sent to leaders of the Senate Judiciary Committee, urging them to investigate the business dealings of both President Trump and former President Biden and to subpoena their sons to testify. Curtis said reports of foreign business interests “raise legitimate questions about foreign access to members of a sitting president’s family and whether such a relationship can create actual or perceived expectations of favorable treatment.”
In his letter, Curtis specifically cited Hunter Biden’s “substantial business with foreign entities, including interests in China and Ukraine, while his father held or sought public office.” He also pointed to a recent ProPublica report alleging that Russian oligarch Umar Kremlev helped pay for a private island rental and a fireworks display at Donald Trump Jr.’s after-wedding party in the Bahamas in May. The Trump family has described that arrangement as a gift from a close friend.
Hunter Biden also sparred with critics in the comments beneath his post, defending his income from painting. “That’s a fucking lie. Every painting I ever sold while my Dad was President is public. Every single dollar accounted for. Every buyer,” he wrote in response to a user who questioned the value of his artwork. “I made an average of $220k per year from painting while my Dad was President. It’s all a part of the public record. Let’s see the Trump family do the same.”
Hunter Biden has previously given sworn testimony to congressional investigators for more than seven hours, part of a broader inquiry in which more than three dozen witnesses appeared across both chambers of Congress.
