Cedar Park police arrested a fugitive wanted on child sexual assault charges after acting on a tip about his whereabouts, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Officers received the tip on September 5 identifying the location of Fermin Alejandro Calles Garcia, a 24-year-old Venezuelan national who had been listed on the Texas DPS 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrant List. Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle he was in and took him into custody, the DPS Criminal Investigations Division said in a statement.
Calles Garcia had been sought since March 2025, when the Travis County Sheriff’s Office issued a warrant charging him with Sexual Assault of a Child, Stalking, and Misdemeanor Assault Causing Bodily Injury.
DPS Criminal Investigation Division special agents assisted Cedar Park police in the investigation. Officials said the tip that led to the arrest came through the Texas DPS Most Wanted list program, and a $3,000 reward will be paid to the anonymous tipster.
Nine other people remain on the state’s most wanted criminal alien list, wanted on charges including murder, indecency with a child by contact, sexual assault of a child, aggravated sexual assault of a child, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, failure to comply with sex offender registration requirements, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and indecent exposure to a minor.
The Texas DPS is offering rewards of up to $7,500 for information leading to the arrest of the remaining fugitives on the list.
