A 9-month-old boy died Friday after a crash in the parking lot of a kosher grocery store in Jackson, Ocean County, and authorities have charged two women in connection with the incident.
According to authorities, Maria Cobon-Guzman, an immigrant from Guatemala who is in the country illegally, struck the boy’s mother and the stroller carrying him and his 5-year-old sister. All three victims were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. The infant was pronounced dead there. His mother and sister remained hospitalized in stable condition.
Cobon-Guzman was charged with manslaughter. A second woman, Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, was charged with endangering the welfare of an incompetent person after she reportedly allowed Cobon-Guzman to drive her car despite knowing she did not have a license, according to an inmate report.
The Department of Homeland Security said both women entered the United States illegally during the Biden administration. Lazaro-Flores entered the country five times in October 2023 and was removed each time, DHS told Fox News Digital, before last entering
