OPINION| In a stunning turn of events, the journalist who once criticized Aaron Rodgers for his views on COVID-19 vaccines has passed away unexpectedly at the age of 43. While we mourn the loss of a fellow human being, it’s important to address the hypocrisy that often plagues the mainstream media.
Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we? Remember when Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback and a man known for his critical thinking, decided to question the efficacy and safety of the COVID-19 vaccines? The media pounced on him like a pack of hungry wolves, labeling him as “anti-science” and “dangerous.”
Tacoma still has the Rainiers and the Narrows Bridge, but our City of Destiny has a hole in our hearts at the loss of Matt Driscoll. What a big heart and an insightful pen he gave us. I miss him already. https://t.co/agGeNTM8Zj

But where were these media pundits when it came to questioning the vaccine’s long-term effects or the government’s overreach in mandating it? They were nowhere to be found, my friends. They were too busy pushing the narrative that the vaccine was the only way out of the pandemic, ignoring the fact that natural immunity, early treatment, and individual freedom of choice were viable alternatives.
Now, fast forward to the present day. Matt Driscoll, the journalist who once criticized Rodgers for his views has passed away unexpectedly at the young age of 43. While we should not celebrate anyone’s death, it’s essential to point out the irony and hypocrisy of the situation.

Rogers “repeated popular conspiracy theories about Covid vaccines, cited a number of discredited sources and claimed he was being ‘cancelled’ and ‘censored’ for ‘doing his own research.’”
