In a surprising turn of events, the Democratic Party has announced that it will reimburse the White House for the cost of First Lady Jill Biden’s flights to attend her son Hunter Biden’s federal gun trial.
The first lady has been traveling back and forth between France and Delaware to support her son, who is facing charges related to lying on a federal gun purchase form about his drug use.
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has stated that it will cover the cost of the first lady’s flights, following the standard practice of reimbursing the government for political travel. The first lady’s office has stated that “the government is reimbursed the value of a first-class fare for these flights to Wilmington and back to Paris,” in accordance with regulations used by previous administrations.
