Sheila Jackson Lee is at it again. The Texas Congresswoman has introduced a Bill that would make it a federal offense for white people to criticize minorities.
This is just another example of the Democrats trying to silence their opponents and criminalize free speech.
If this Bill were to become law, it would be a disaster for our country.
First of all, it would be nearly impossible to enforce.
How exactly would the government be able to prove that someone was motivated by race when they criticized someone? Would they have to read people’s minds?
Even if they could somehow prove that someone was motivated by race, what exactly would constitute criticism? Would saying that black lives matter be considered criticism?
This Bill is also dangerous because it would give the government too much power.
Once you start making it a crime to criticize certain groups of people, where do you stop? What’s next?
Making it a crime to criticize the government? That’s not the kind of country we want to live in.
The good news is that this Bill is not likely to pass. But even the fact that it was introduced is troubling. It shows how far some Democrats are willing to go to try and silence their opponents.
We must remain vigilant against these attacks on our free speech rights.
