It looks like we’re going to be learning a lot more about Jeffrey Epstein and his associates. A judge has ruled that dozens of documents connected to Epstein’s associates will be released to the public. This is a major victory for anyone who wants greater transparency and accountability when it comes to the wealthy and powerful.
The documents set to be released pertain to eight people, including billionaire executive chairman of the Hyatt Hotels Tom Pritzker. Pritzker had objected to the release of the documents, stating that it would “wrongfully affect (his) privacy and reputation.” But Judge Loretta Preska wasn’t having any of it.
In her ruling, Preska stated that the public interest overrides the right to privacy. She pointed out that Pritzker is a public figure and that there is significant public interest in the case. I have to say, I agree with Preska’s ruling. The rich and powerful should not be above scrutiny. If anything, they should be held to a higher standard.
Dozens of Jeffrey Epstein’s associates are about to have their names made public. Thanks to a judge’s ruling, we’re going to be learning a lot more about who was involved in Epstein’s crimes. This is a major victory for anyone who wants greater transparency and accountability from the wealthy and powerful.
I highly doubt that we’ll ever learn about the involvement of the people that we really want to learn about such as former President Bill Clinton or Prince Andrew, or any of the other people who have been recorded as having flown on Epstein’s private airplane to his secluded island where God only knows what happened there. Maybe one day we’ll learn more, but that’ll likely come after both Bill and Hillary are no longer with us and not much can be done about it.
