Opinion| Charges Against Trump Are Easily Dismissed, Here’s How

Opinion| Lawrence David| There are few Constitutional attorneys with the historical perspective to that Mark Levin possesses.

Prior to being elected to the Radio Hall of Fame, Levin practiced Constitutional law.

Beginning in 1981, Mark R. Levin served as an advisor to several members of President Ronald Reagan’s Cabinet, eventually being promoted to Associate Director of Presidential Personnel and ultimately Chief of Staff to Attorney General Edwin Meese.

Levin also served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Elementary and Secondary Education at the U.S. Department of Education, and Deputy Solicitor of the U.S. Department of the Interior.

He has practiced law in the private sector, and is president of the Landmark Legal Foundation in Leesburg, Virginia.

Mr. Levin decided to treat us to the opening statement he would have given to the Senate at the beginning of the impeachment trial of President Trump.

Mr. Levin highlights the fact that there are no criminal charges cited in either of the two Articles sent over by Pelosi’s House. What is the basis for an impeachment?

A little history please.  The Framers made it clear that impeachment must never be brought over policy differences.

Had he been chosen by President Trump to deliver his message, the Senate would have voted to immediately dismiss the charges.

“We are here today not to defend the Constitution against the President of the United States but to defend the Constitution from the House managers.”
