Jim Jordan Slams Corrupt Obama Era Officials During Hatch Act Hearing, Jumps to Kellyanne Conway’s Defense

Opinion de Baish| On Wednesday, the House Oversight and Reform Committee voted to allow a subpoena for White House counselor Kellyanne Conway “after she failed to appear at a hearing centering on her alleged violations of the Hatch Act,” according to Politico.

Conway was forbade from attending the hearing, by request of the White House, which pushed the Democratic-majority panel to allow Democratic Chairman Elijah Cummings to ultimately issue the subpoena.

“Here, we have a clear-cut case of a federal employee violating federal law over and over and over again,” Cummings stated prior to a nail-biting debate amongst Republicans and Democrats.

According to Politico, “The U.S. Office of Special Counsel (OSC) issued a report earlier this month citing Conway for multiple violations of the Hatch Act, which prohibits federal employees from participating in political speech while performing their official duties. Lawmakers raised their voices at times as they sparred over the allegations, with Republicans asserting that Conway was unfairly targeted. The debate got so heated that Cummings repeatedly slammed his gavel to bring the committee back to order.”

The Gateway Pundit reports:

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) on Wednesday defended President Trump’s counselor Kellyanne Conway during a Hatch Act hearing.

Jordan called out Obama’s corrupt officials who targeted conservatives for ruin and said the hit on Conway is “outrageous, unprecedented, unfair and just flat out wrong.”

“In the Obama Administration, Hilda Solis, Mr. Castro and Josh Earnest were all found to violate the Hatch Act, OSC didn’t recommend they be fired — for some of those people they didn’t even issue a public report,” Representative Jordan stated, adding that “Americans hate unfairness and they know it when they see it. They also hate double standards.”

The Republican lawmaker shredded corrupt IRS Obama-era official Lois Lerner for the way she targeted her political opponents.

“Remember just a few years ago when the IRS systematically targeted people because they had different political persuasion? Federal employees can’t do what Lois Lerner in the IRS did when they targeted Tea Party groups,” Jordan reminded.

When all was said and done, the House Oversight Committee voted 25-16 in favor of authorizing the subpoena for Conway over (totally non-existent) Hatch Act violations.

Republican Congressman Mark Meadows also set his sights on the corrupt Obama White House during the hearing saying, “[W]e have one standard for Kellyanne Conway and another standard for everybody else and so if you’re gonna subpoena people, let’s subpoena Samantha Power. Let’s make sure she comes in because you know what I have? I have emails on her official account where she was going after Donald Trump while she was working for our government and indeed at the same time was unmasking individuals!”
