Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, has died at age 27. He died Sunday at a rehabilitation facility, according to online records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner. An autopsy has not yet been completed, according to TMZ.
Cindy Crawford’s representative confirmed the death to Fox News Digital, sharing a statement from the family: “The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time.”
Presley was the only son of Crawford and Gerber and the older brother of model and actress Kaia Gerber. He had spoken publicly for years about his mental health struggles, both on social media and in interviews.
In a Vogue cover story published in August 2026, Kaia Gerber, 24, discussed her brother’s mental health and drug use. Vogue described his experience as a “decade-long struggle with drug addiction.”
“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia told Vogue.
She also reflected on how her brother’s openness contrasted with her family’s typically private nature.
“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything—and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone.’ There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them,” Kaia said.
Kaia added that her brother’s struggles shaped her own approach to asking for help. “I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing,” she told Vogue.
Speaking Out Publicly
In December 2025, Presley posted an Instagram video, later deleted, in which he discussed taking medications including Xanax, Valium and buprenorphine while describing panic attacks and his recovery, according to People magazine. He said, per People, “Unfortunately, I’ve had a lot of loss in many different forms recently, so that is not an excuse, but it’s the reason why I am where I’m at now.”
He said he wanted the video to reach “people in many ways,” explaining: “So you feel like you’re not alone, because that is how I feel most of the time and I have a feeling that if I saw all of this, a lot of people will at least know that there’s someone else going through it. And the second thing is, hopefully I find some people out here and are willing to help or know someone that could help.”
Presley had also discussed his mental health on a Studio 22 podcast in February 2023, saying: “Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that’s all I need to do.”
In 2019, Presley was charged with a DUI.
Modeling Career
Presley signed with IMG Models at age 15 and later walked runways for a number of designer houses. He made his runway debut at Moschino’s show in Los Angeles in 2016, and went on to star in a Calvin Klein campaign and a fragrance ad for Celine, as well as appearing in shows for Dolce & Gabbana and Tommy Hilfiger.
