Podcast Hosts Lose Sponsors After Mocking Comment About Charlie Kirk’s Death

At least five advertisers have dropped the podcast “I’ve Had It” after hosts Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan were seen laughing at a social media post calling for Charlie Kirk’s body to be exhumed and shot again.

At least five advertisers have pulled their sponsorship of the podcast “I’ve Had It,” hosted by Jennifer Welch and Angie Sullivan, after a clip circulated online showing the pair laughing at a social media post calling for Charlie Kirk’s body to be dug up and shot again.

Charlie Kirk, the co-founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated in September 2025. During a segment the podcast recorded the day after Election Day, titled “Drinking MAGA Tears,” Welch and Sullivan read aloud comments from users on X celebrating Democratic wins. One post, from a user with the handle dread_botlord, suggested Kirk’s body be exhumed and shot again. Welch and Sullivan did not make the comment themselves, but video of the segment shows Welch laughing at the remark. Later in the clip, the hosts can be heard saying Kirk was “shot by a MAGA person.”

After the clip spread online, conservative commentators organized a campaign urging the podcast’s advertisers to cut ties. As of this writing, Boll and Branch, Cash App, Chewy, Lola Blankets and Zenni Optical have either ended their sponsorship of the show or said they would not continue it.

Following the backlash, the portion of the podcast referencing the tweet and the hosts’ reaction to it appears to have been edited out of the published episode, though a screengrab of the tweets being discussed is still visible on screen around the 35-minute mark of the video.

Political ties

Welch and Sullivan’s podcast has drawn high-profile political guests, including former Vice President Kamala Harris and New York Congressman-elect Brad Lander. On Election Day, California Congressman Ro Khanna recorded a segment praising Welch, saying she had “made the progressive movement stronger.”

“You uplifted, frankly, progressives like me and others who believed the party needed to go in a different direction,” Khanna said.

About six weeks after Kirk’s assassination, Welch had also used the podcast to urge Democratic leaders, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, to shift the party’s direction, pointing to a “No Kings” protester who told a reporter she was glad Kirk was dead as evidence of where the party’s energy was heading.

Welch and Sullivan have not issued a public statement addressing the sponsor departures or the edited segment.
