A St. Peters Police Department report has detailed the final hours of actor Robert Kelker-Kelly, best known for playing Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives,” who died at 62 at his St. Charles County home.
According to the report, obtained by Fox News Digital, Kelker-Kelly’s wife, Allison Kelly, told police she picked him up from Spirit of St. Louis Airport at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 3. Kelker-Kelly, who also worked as a professional pilot, told his wife during the drive home that he was feeling pain in his left arm and chest and asked her to pull over so he could vomit.
Kelly asked whether he wanted to go to the hospital. He said no and asked instead to be taken home to lie down, the report states.
Once home, Kelker-Kelly changed clothes and got into bed, still in pain. He asked his wife to bring him an aspirin. When she returned from the kitchen, she found him unresponsive and not breathing, according to the report.
Kelly called 911 and began performing CPR. St. Peters police and the St. Charles County Ambulance District arrived at the home shortly after 8 p.m. Paramedics performed life-saving measures, but Kelker-Kelly was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m., the report says.
Kelly told investigators her husband had no known medical conditions, took no prescription medications, and had not suffered any serious injuries or undergone surgery in the past year. Police said nothing suspicious was found at the scene.
“Mr. Kelly had reportedly complained of chest pain shortly before becoming unresponsive, and the circumstances appeared consistent with a medical event,” police told Fox News Digital.
The St. Charles County medical examiner released Kelker-Kelly with no further need for investigation, according to the report, which did not specify an official cause of death.
A soap opera career spanning decades
Kelker-Kelly was born April 18, 1964, in Wichita, Kansas. He began his soap opera career playing Sam Fowler on “Another World” in 1987 before taking over the role of Bo Brady on “Days of Our Lives” in 1992, succeeding original actor Peter Reckell. He stayed with the NBC drama until 1995 and won a 1994 Soap Opera Digest Award for outstanding lead actor.
He later played the villain Stavros Cassadine on “General Hospital” from 2001 to 2003, returning to the role in 2013 and 2014.
