Federal agents searched the Washington, D.C., home of Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., early Monday morning, according to a Department of Justice spokesperson.
Homeland Security Investigations, the principal investigative arm of the Department of Homeland Security, executed the search around 6 a.m. Agents wearing HSI jackets were seen outside the home.
“Today in the Washington, D.C., area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,” a DOJ spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
The DOJ later confirmed that agents executed the search under a judicially authorized warrant, though officials have not disclosed the full scope of the investigation.
Border czar Tom Homan said last month that a criminal investigation involving Omar was underway. Reports have indicated the probe concerns a criminal fraud investigation into Omar’s immigration paperwork.
Omar represents Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. This is a developing story, and further details about the investigation have not been made public.
