Penta Wins Chaotic WWE Money in the Bank Ladder Match After Je’Von Evans Crashes Through Ambulance Roof

Penta won his first Money in the Bank ladder match on Saturday night in a chaotic bout that saw Je’Von Evans taken away in an ambulance, only to return and later crash through its roof.

WWE’s Money in the Bank ladder match delivered one of its most jaw-dropping moments yet on Saturday night, as Penta claimed the coveted briefcase after a bout that saw one competitor carried away in an ambulance — only to return and later crash through its roof.

Six wrestlers entered the match with a shot at a future world title opportunity on the line: Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Penta, CM Punk, Kevin Owens and Trick Williams.

Breakker dominated much of the early action, delivering a brutal spear that sent Evans crashing into the barricade. WWE officials rushed to Evans’ side, and he was placed on a stretcher, taken backstage and loaded into an ambulance, appearing to be out of the match entirely.

With Evans seemingly gone, Breakker picked apart the rest of the field, eliminating Trick Williams and Penta before turning his attention to Punk and Owens, who had been feuding on “SmackDown” for weeks. Breakker speared both men through the barricade near the announce table.

Just as Breakker tried to regain his footing, an ambulance rolled down the entrance ramp — and Evans emerged, back in the fight. He quickly took out Breakker and the rest of the field, appearing on the verge of becoming the youngest men’s Money in the Bank winner in history.

But Evans struggled to position a 15-foot ladder beneath the briefcase, giving Breakker time to return to the ring and interfere. The two wrestlers fought over control of the ladder until Breakker shoved it out from under Evans, sending him flying through the air and crashing through the roof of the ambulance that had carried him away earlier in the match.

With Breakker seemingly in control, Penta reentered the match and turned the tide. He wedged a small ladder into the turnbuckle, and as the two climbed toward the top, Penta hit a Mexican Destroyer that sent Breakker crashing to the mat. Penta then climbed the ladder and secured the briefcase, winning Money in the Bank for the first time in his career.

The victory gives Penta the right to cash in his championship opportunity against Roman Reigns or Sami Zayn at a time of his choosing.
