Yelp has released its list of the Best New Restaurants of 2026, ranking dining spots nationwide based on review data and local buzz. Two New York City restaurants made the top 10: Limusina, which came in at No. 3, and Ambassadors Clubhouse, which landed at No. 10.
Yelp also used the report to flag broader dining trends. Steakhouses and brunch spots were among the platform’s hottest categories this year, with searches for “steak near me” up 59% over the past year and hitting an all-time high in August 2026. Indian cuisine also saw a major surge, with searches for “Indian bowls” up 135% and “Indian food buffet near me” up 459% compared to the prior 12 months.
Limusina, No. 3
Limusina is a new Mexican restaurant in Hudson Yards from Quality Branded, the restaurant group behind Bad Roman, Quality Bistro, Twin Tails and Don Angie. The space was once a parking garage; Yelpers described the Art-Deco redesign as “sexy” and “chic.” The restaurant’s creative director told Yelp, “We wanted it to feel like you were being transported into a new experience.”
Fans point to the Long-Bone Short Rib Quesabirria as a standout, along with the Red Snapper Tacos. The menu also includes reworked Mexican classics such as truffle machete quesadillas and pork belly chicharrón.
Ambassadors Clubhouse, No. 10
Ambassadors Clubhouse, the family-owned restaurant from siblings Jyotin, Karam and Sunaina Sethi, blends Northern Indian cuisine with influences from Punjabi royalty. It’s named for the siblings’ grandfather, a former Indian ambassador, and previously earned a Michelin star in London. Yelp reviewers say landing a reservation is nearly impossible but worth the effort, recommending the Beetroot Raj Kachori Chaat and the Original BBQ Butter Chicken Chops.
Notable entries elsewhere on the list
Other restaurants cited by Yelp in its top rankings include a jungle-themed seafood and steak spot built inside a former P.F. Chang’s, praised by reviewers for its open fire pit cooking, animal-print decor and dim lighting. One Yelp user described the food as blending “Asian, Mexican, and tropical influences,” while cocktails and tomato butter also drew praise.
A Chinese-American restaurant from chef-owner Anthony Wang, who trained in Europe, offers a $68 prix-fixe menu with dishes like caviar blinis, duck sausage, Chongqing Fried Chicken and duck fat rice. Wang told Yelp his approach is “rooted in nostalgia from my upbringing.”
Another entry, an Indian restaurant featuring patterned tiles and a live fire grill, has earned a Michelin Bib Gourmand selection. Its prix-fixe sigdi family-style dishes include the Taro Root Chaat and a pani puri-style Chilled Green Chaas. On Reddit, a diner identified as Ben L. called the food “not your typical Indian food that’s heavy and dense,” describing it instead as light, well-balanced and full of flavor, with a “really sexy vibe.”
A tasting-menu restaurant called Lilo, sourcing local ingredients with Japanese influences, earned a Michelin star within its first two months of opening. Diners work through roughly a dozen courses at the chef’s counter before finishing with tea by a fire pit and a signed souvenir menu. One diner described the meal as a “choreographed experimentation with flavors,” highlighting the N25 Kaluga Caviar served over orgeat-flavored ice cream and the Santa Barbara Sea Urchin with English pea and rose geranium.
