Denver’s offense struggled for the first 30 minutes, with quarterback Bo Nix looking shaky, while the Rams built their double-digit lead. But the Broncos flipped the game in the second half, powered by an opportunistic defense and a resurgent performance from Nix, who accounted for three touchdowns in the final two quarters.
The turning point came in the fourth quarter, when Denver’s defense returned a Matthew Stafford interception for a touchdown, giving the Broncos their first lead of the game. Nix later added a one-yard quarterback sneak to put Denver ahead with less than a minute remaining.
The Broncos still had to sweat out the finish. Stafford calmly drove the Rams into scoring range in the closing seconds, but Denver’s defense sealed the win with another interception.
The loss drops the Rams to 1-2 on the season, leaving them behind their NFC West rival, the San Francisco 49ers, who are 3-0. For a Los Angeles team still finding its footing, the second-half collapse adds pressure as the season progresses.
For Denver, the win keeps the Broncos competitive in a crowded AFC West race that includes the Kansas City Chiefs and a 3-0 Las Vegas Raiders squad. It wasn’t a clean performance, but for a Broncos team looking to keep pace with its division rivals, the result was what mattered.
