Country singer Maren Morris is giving fans a look at a recent wellness trip to Bali, posting a series of photos on Instagram that she says capture a period of personal healing.
In the caption, Morris, 36, thanked her travel companions, writing, “Thank you @rachelbeauregard + @hotyogaeastnashville for the most beautiful journey to Bali with so many new friends for life. And it’s not over yet :)” She also described herself as “not healed but healing.”
The photo set included an image of Morris in a black string bikini standing on a deck with a drink in hand, along with pictures of her taking part in a group meditation, standing beneath a waterfall and spending time with friends.
Fans responded warmly in the comments. “She’s thrivinggggggg (and surviving),” one wrote, while another said, “So happy to see this journey for you.”
Morris has not specified exactly what she is healing from with this trip, but she has spoken publicly in recent months about a difficult personal stretch. She rose to fame in 2016 with her breakthrough single “My Church,” which led to her debut album “Hero” and hits including “80’s Mercedes,” “I Could Use a Love Song” and “Rich.” She has since released four studio albums, among them “D R E A M S I C L E,” “Humble Quest” and “Girl,” and has earned 17 Grammy nominations with one win.
Speaking to People in August 2025 about “D R E A M S I C L E,” Morris described the record as deeply personal, touching on her sexuality and her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Hurd.
“It’s just cool; it’s a very intimate record, very vulnerable, not the easiest to make — so the fact that people are receiving it this well and healing from my healing is really special, to get to see the live form of that that place now.”
Morris, who is openly liberal, has also discussed how the political climate in country music has affected her mental health. In a TikTok posted in January, she said she attends far fewer award shows now because the atmosphere in the genre has grown “dicey” since President Trump’s first term.
“I’ve lost a lot of fans over the years because of my viewpoints and I think that’s fair. If you don’t agree with me, and you can’t enjoy my music because of my viewpoints, you are absolutely allowed to do that.”
Her outspokenness has drawn criticism before. In 2024, Morris faced backlash — including calls for her arrest — after bringing her young son to a drag show. She defended the decision on “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” describing the event as family-friendly.
“I think it’s just such an amazing expression of artistry, and so I just think like normalizing it and making it seem like these are just people that love dressing up, too, is an amazing thing. It was an all-ages show, so it was completely family-friendly.”
