Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial Says He Had No Doubts About Her Guilt

The lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, Michael P. Desronvil, says he never had doubts about her guilt, contradicting accounts from other jurors after the Plymouth County case ended in a mistrial.

The single juror whose vote led to a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case has spoken publicly for the first time, saying he was certain of the Massachusetts mother’s guilt and did not share the reservations attributed to him by fellow jurors.

The juror, identified as Michael P. Desronvil, gave a statement to NewsNation that was first reported by The Western Journal on Thursday evening. Clancy’s trial was held in Plymouth County Superior Court.

“I didn’t have any doubts. As I tried to explain different possible theories during deliberation, I kept getting cut off as if I had doubts based on the evidence present,” Desronvil said in the statement, shared on X by NewsNation’s Brian Entin. “Based on all the physical evidence, key witnesses, and what the prosecution presents, I thought it was enough proof that she [Clancy] knew exactly what she was doing and planned.”

According to The Western Journal, the other 11 jurors had favored a verdict of not guilty by reason of insanity, leaving Desronvil as the lone holdout. In a clip circulated by the Daily Wire, juror Kellie Farina said of him: “He had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”

Jury foreperson Roni Carlson told the outlet that Desronvil “admitted he had reasonable doubt” but would not explain his reasoning. That account conflicts with what NewsNation’s Ray Marcel says Desronvil told him directly. Speaking on Chris Cuomo’s show, Marcel said: “He felt that she was sane when she did it. And that’s exactly what he told me. He said, from day one, that he always felt that she was guilty, and he never displayed or said anything about reasonable doubt.” Marcel also said deliberations grew heated and that jurors took a vote each day.

The Western Journal reported that claims had circulated online suggesting Desronvil’s religion or past allegations against him had shaped his position. In his statement to NewsNation, Desronvil pushed back on that speculation, saying his decision rested on the evidence and the prosecution’s case alone.

Desronvil has faced online doxing since the mistrial was declared earlier this month, according to The Western Journal, which also reported that a crowdfunding campaign on his behalf had raised more than $280,000 as of Thursday night. The outlet said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis had offered him “asylum” in that state.
