According to reports, the senators had not been satisfied with what they had heard from Cheatle and FBI Director Christopher Wray on a briefing call about the shooting earlier in the day. “We were trying to get to the root of what had happened, how the shooter was on the roof by himself and able to get off the shots,” Barrasso explained.
“We’re going with you”
“Don’t walk away from us”

The Republican senators’ actions have been met with widespread approval from Trump supporters, who see their actions as a much-needed step towards holding the Secret Service accountable for its failures. “It’s about time someone stood up to the Secret Service and demanded answers,” one Trump supporter told reporters. “They failed to protect our President, and they need to be held accountable.”

Cheatle, for her part, has admitted that the assassination attempt was “unacceptable” and that “the buck stops with me.” However, she has stopped short of resigning, claiming that the shooter’s vantage point was outside of her agents’ remit and the responsibility of local law enforcement.
The confrontation at the RNC is just the latest in a series of events that have left Trump supporters feeling increasingly frustrated with the Secret Service. Many believe that the agency has failed in its duty to protect the former President, and they are demanding answers and accountability.
As the investigation into the assassination attempt continues, one thing is clear: the Republican senators’ actions have struck a chord with Trump supporters, who see their confrontation with the Secret Service director as a much-needed step towards justice.
