Ivanka Trump’s grandmother, Marie Zelníčková, known in the family as “Babi,” celebrated her 100th birthday on Saturday, Sept. 26, with a family gathering at Ivanka Trump’s home in Miami.
Ivanka Trump, 44, shared photos from the celebration on Instagram, writing, “100 years of life, love, family and memories.” According to her post, the event brought together Zelníčková’s three grandchildren and all 10 of her great-grandchildren, spanning four generations.
“It was incredibly special,” Ivanka Trump wrote of the gathering.
One image from the day showed Zelníčková seated with relatives for a formal family portrait. Ivanka Trump attended with her husband, Jared Kushner, and their three children, Arabella, 15, Joseph, 12, and Theodore, 10.
Eric Trump came with his wife, Lara Trump, and their two children, Luke, 9, and Carolina, 7. Donald Trump Jr. attended with his wife, Bettina Anderson, and his five children from his previous marriage to Vanessa Trump: Kai, Donald III, Tristan, Spencer and Chloe.
The celebration also carried an emotional undertone, marking the first such milestone without Ivanka Trump’s mother, Ivana Trump, who was Zelníčková’s daughter. Ivana Trump died in July 2022 at age 73.
“My mother, her beloved daughter, was deeply missed, but her love and presence was felt throughout the day in the stories we shared and in the family she loved so fiercely,” Ivanka Trump wrote.
She also addressed her grandmother directly in the post: “Babi, your century of love has shaped generations and lives in every one of us.”
Ivanka Trump has spoken before about her close relationship with her grandmother, who helped raise her and currently lives with her family. Earlier this year, appearing on “The Diary of a CEO” podcast, she described Zelníčková as “unbelievably nurturing” and said having her at home is “a blessing.”
“I have a lot of love for this woman,” she said on the podcast, also reflecting on how losing her mother and watching her grandmother age had reshaped her outlook. “You can’t take things for granted in life, and I’ve learned that in numerous ways,” she said.
